Description
On 16 January 2020, the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) awarded delivery order N0001920F0514 under Basic Ordering Agreement�(BOA)�N00019-17-G-0008 to Rolls-Royce Military�AERO Engines LTD, Bristol, England for�an F402 (AV-8B) specific, Foreign Object Damage (FOD) Study�and Analysis Program in calendar year 2020. This contract action is issued on a sole-source basis under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, ""Only One Responsible Source and No Other Type of Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements."" Rolls Royce Military AERO Engines, LTD. is the original designer, developer, and manufacturer of the F402 (AV-8B) series engine and is the only source with the requisite knowledge, experience and technical expertise to continue to provide the required supplies and services. Rolls Royce was selected as the prime contractor for the original engine development resulting from a full and open competition. Under this contract, Rolls Royce shall provide a comprehensive FOD Studies and Analysis Program that shall include: On-site study, engineering analysis and technical services to address and mitigate safety and logistics issues for the F402 engine. This program will focus on increasing the operational readiness and safety of�flight�by reducing FOD rates on the F402 Engine. The Period of Performance for this contract is six months.
