This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Request for Information notice is to determine interest and capability of potential qualifications of Businesses and Firms relative to the North American Industry Classification Code (NAICS) 334516. The Department of Veteran s Affairs is seeking business manufacturer or distributors of small business manufacturers, of functionally equipment to all the following: OLYMPUS SYSTEM BX43 MICROSCOPE The contractor shall provide all equipment, supplies, materials, manufacture, and deliver this equipment. Design and delivery shall be coordinated with the Service Point of Contact Personnel, to be revealed after contract award has been determined. PHYSICAL SPECIFICATIONS: 1. Required 30 days maximum after date of award but, will accept delivery as soon as possible WARRANTY: Prospective vendors shall be able to provide direct manufacturer support and shall directly issue a manufacturer's limited factor warranty of the government. The microscope and its components shall be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use and service for a period, beginning from the date of shipment, of: (a) five (5) years for optical or mechanical defects and, (b) one (1) year for electrical, electro-mechanical, electronic, or wear-related components. If equipment/components under warranty are found to be defective, they shall be repaired or replaced at no additional cost to the government. DELIVERY LOCATION: The delivery area is located: Northport VA Medical Center, 79 Middleville Rd, NY 11768 CODES: Vendor shall comply with accepted manufacturer process, as well as current Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Labor Department, and New York codes, laws and regulations as applicable to this statement of work. FINAL INSPECTION: All material delivered must meet specifications provided and will be inspected by Operations Supervisor. STATEMENT OF WORK OLYMPUS SYSTEM MICROSCOPE BX43F3 Northport VAMC Background/Scope: The Northport VAMC Dermatology Department wishes to purchase an Olympus BX43 microscope. The current microscope is out of order and replacement parts are no longer available. The microscope is an essential piece of equipment for reviewing pathology slides in the clinic before optimal treatment can be determined. The microscope allows physicians to conduct slow Mohs procedures a microscopy-guided staged excision to help manage complex skin cancers. Additionally, with an LED illuminator equivalent to or better than a 100 W halogen lamp, the BX43 microscope delivers brightness that s appropriate for teaching and various contrast methods. Specifications: The BX43 microscope utilizes a high color rendering white LED with a luminosity equivalent to a 30 W halogen lamp. The long-lasting LED provides a consistent color temperature at any brightness level and allows for highly accurate color reproduction while producing little heat that will cause specimens to deteriorate. The BX43 s light intensity manager eliminates the step of adjusting lamp brightness when changing magnification. By maintaining uniform brightness at any magnification, users can achieve their observations quickly and with reduced eye strain. A low magnification condenser allows quick and easy change of the objective magnification from 2x to 100x. The BX43 microscope is customizable with modular units including condensers, nosepieces, a rotating stage, objectives, and intermediate optics optimized for various observation methods.
