Description
This is a SPECIAL NOTICE to announce an INDUSTRY DAY for New York District Small Business Industry Day to be held on 25 March 2020, beginning 10:00 am. The purpose of this event is to allow the Government the opportunity to provide to interested companies a brief overview of the requirements for upcoming contracts within USACE New York District's area of responsibility, as well as to obtain valuable feedback and address specific questions from companies relating to the many planned projects and their opportunities for small businesses.� Small businesses will have the opportunity to meet with other small businesses as well provide capability statements to members of the New York District Corps of Engineers. OVERVIEW � �The New York District Small Business Program supports the development of small businesses and maximizes opportunities for qualified Small, Small Disadvantaged, Veteran-Owned, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned, Women-Owned, and Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUBZone) businesses. In addition, such concerns are to be afforded the maximum practicable opportunity to participate as subcontractors in qualifying contracts awarded to large business, thereby ensuring a broad base for supplies and services in support of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers mission, and to strengthen economic development. THIS IS AN INDUSTRY DAY ANNOUNCEMENT for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. This is not a solicitation announcement for proposals and there may be No contract awarded from this announcement. No reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this announcement or any follow-up information requests. USACE is restricting in-person attendance to the first fifty (50) companies to contact the POC below. Each company that is notified that its attendance request has been accepted can only send two representatives each. If space permits, this limitation scenario may change and will be posted on beta.sam.gov. POC & Contact information for attending the New York District Small Business Industry Day: Mr. Justin Helfman of USACE will be the principal POC. Specific questions regarding the meeting shall be submitted in writing to Mr. Justin Helfman at Justin.L.Helfman@usace.army.mil. Responses to these questions may be posted on beta.sam.gov depending on their applicability to the public. All interested parties wishing to attend the Industry Day must submit their intent to attend via e-mail to Justin.L.Helfman@usace.army.mil by filling out and returning the attached spreadsheet �Small Business Industry Day Reservations� with all information for those who plan on attending no later than 2:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time on 18 March 2020. The meeting will be held at the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New York District, Jacob K. Javits Federal Building, New York, NY 10278. Meeting Room Location is the 6th floor Conference Center Room �A/B�. Food and drink (such as coffee, tea, soda, etc.) are not allowed in the conference center room. Participants are allowed to have bottled water in the room. It is recommended that those attending in person schedule a minimum of 15 minutes to process through the building's security screening.
