Description

The United States�Army Contracting Command - New Jersey, on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager Close Combat Systems� has awarded a sole source contract to Safariland, LLC�for the production of the 12-Gauge M1116 Extended Range Non-Lethal (ERNL) Cartridge. The 12-Gauge M1116 ERNL Cartridge is a direct fire, low hazard, non-shrapnel producing device that delivers a less than lethal blunt trauma marking. It is a translucent 12-Gauge shell loaded with a 40 gram, tear shaped Kevlar-cotton bag coated in florescent green powder for marking and filled with #9 lead shot. The projectile design in the cartridge utilizes four stabilizing tails for increased accuracy and the small percussion primer is a military grade qualified smokeless propellant. The Contractor shall be responsible for providing all materials, equipment, hard tooling, personnel, and facilities necessary to manufacture, produce, and delivery the types and quantities of deliverables specified by the contract.
