Description
USACE, Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) Contracting Office intends to issue a sole source award to Aquabotix Technology Corporation, 21 Father DeValles Blvd, Unit 8, Ste 106, Fall River, MA 02723-1519 to lease ten (10) Aquabotix autonomous underwater and surface vehicles that can operate simultaneously to map the surf zone for bathymetry and currents.� The specific requirement are: Vehicles must be able to move faster than currents common in the nearshore (>2m/s) and synoptically collect data while providing redundant data feeds. The pressure sensor used on board for bottom measurements should be rated to depths no more than 10 m. Weighing just 1.8kg and a length of 76cm Vertical dive capability Ability to operate as both a UUV and a USV Qualified to 50 meters dive-depth Easily deployable and recoverable Wireless data feedback transmitted to the base station upon surfacing High accuracy temperature (+/-0.1�) and pressure sensor (+/- 50cm depth) Additional sensor payloads available Multi-constellation GPS for +/-2 m location accuracy Deployable in groups for synoptic data gathering �Sustained surf zone operation � The Aquabotix Swarm Divers have the unique capability to operate in the surf zone as a swarm (team) informing each system of whereabouts and findings, ability to stream the data back to a base station in near-real time, and the ability to withstand impact loads from breaking waves greater than 1 meter without affecting performance. The lease will also include supporting equipment to include data logging, display and operation commence center.� Onsite training will be provided for up to five personnel.� At the end of the lease period, the Government will have the option to purchase the swarm divers. � � This Notice of Intent is for information purposes only. The Government intends to procure from only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). This is not a request for competitive quotes or proposals and no solicitation is available. � This acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures. There are no set-aside restrictions for this requirement. The intended procurement will be classified under North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) 532490, Other Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment Rental and Leasing with a Small Business Size Standard of $32.5M. All sources eligible to provide this supply must respond in writing. Responses must be supported with clear and convincing evidence to clearly articulate the ability to provide the supply as outlined above. The contractor must also provide a description of their past experience in fulfilling requirements which are the same or similar to this requirement and references for each.� A request for documentation will not be considered as an affirmative response. If no responses are received within seven calendar (7) days after publication of this notice, to the effect that comparable services are available, and that it is more advantageous to the Government than obtaining this product through a sole source contract, then a sole source acquisition award will be made. A determination by the Government not to compete based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.
