Description
**AMENDMENT 01 ISSUED TO EXTEND THE SOLICITATION CLOSING DATE TO APRIL 2, 2020. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for services in which the government intends to acquire in accordance with FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisitions Procedures. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS), Alaska Fisheries Science Center, Auke Bay Laboratories has a requirement.��AFSC�s goal is to contract a Tribal Liaison Project with a person who not only understands different�Alaska Native cultures, values and ways of communicating, but also has established relationships in Alaska�Native communities in the northern Bering Sea region. This individual will help us lay the foundation to�build collaborative relationships with Tribal councils, Tribal governments and Tribal organizations in the northern Bering Sea. Having both a science background and ties to the local communities are essential�because we hope to develop mutually beneficial research priorities that will require familiarity and�established relationships with local decision makers (e.g.,Elders). This project will enable the AFSC to more�effectively carry out its� science mission and better serve our constituents.� � Skills needed to accomplish the tasks are: Working knowledge of Alaska Native community cultures, traditions and ways of communicating. Established working relationships with Alaska rural and tribal communities, particularly in the northern Bering Sea region. A demonstrated track record of working with key fishery management organizations including the Alaska Department of Fish and Game and the North Pacific Fishery Management Council as well as Bering sea commercial fishing industries. An understanding of research, data collection and analytical methods, applied statistics and quantitative methods. Ability to work independently and meet deadlines. Strong communications, project management, facilitation and organizational skills. Program evaluation capabilities. Willing and able to travel, including to remote Alaska communities in the northern Bering Sea See attached Statement of Work for more information.� �All interested concerns must submit a quotation and documentation demonstrating the qualifications to provide services as described above within fifteen (15) days of the publication date of this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation, quotations are being requested and a written solicitation has been issued. A firm-fixed order is anticipated to be issued in within 5 business days of closing date and time.
