Description
AE 3/18/20 RESPONSE TO VA Brooklyn Demolish Building 3 RFI s. There will be lot of noise and dust during the demolition and site work. Please advise what are the work hours for the entire project REFER TO GENERAL REQUIREMENTS SPECIFICATION. Drawing GJ-100 is for ICRA assessment. Please advise what are the specific ICRA requirements as this is an exterior work project. COMPLY WITH INSTRUCTIONS ON DRAWING GJ-100. Solicitation page 14 of 76 para 12 states Install 7-foot construction fence around the entire site. Whereas drawing GC-001 states 8 0 ht. Please advise which is correct. Also is this a temporary fence or permanent fence. A CONSTRUCTIOIN FENCE IS TEMPORARY. COMPLY WITH DRAWING GC-001. Drawing HA-101 note # 9 states that facility has extensive mold contamination of the walls and floors. Please confirm that this will be considered and dispose off as regular construction waste. COMPLY WITH DRAWING HA-101; GENERAL REQUIREMENTS, CONSTRUCTION WASTE MANAGEMENT, DEMOLITION AND ASBESTOS ABATEMENT SPECIFICATIONS. Drawing HA-101 note # 3 inside the table states 2,000 cubic feet of surrounding masonry/wood. Please confirm if this quantity is correctly listed for the 28 windows or contractor can disregard it and can consider caulking of 28 windows for asbestos abatement. COMPLY WITH DRAWING HA-101; GENERAL REQUIREMENTS, CONSTRUCTION WASTE MANAGEMENT, DEMOLITION AND ASBESTOS ABATEMENT SPECIFICATIONS. Spec section 02 21 00 states to hire professional licensed land surveyor to perform lay out proposed improvements and perform a post-construction survey. Please confirm surveyor is required for this project. COMPLY WITH SPECIFICATION. Spec section 01 45 29 states material testing and inspection services to be provided by a testing lab retained by VA. Please confirm this is correct and contractor is not responsible for any test and inspections. COMPLY WITH SPECIFICATION. VERIFY WITH COR. Spec sec 01 35 26 para 1.7 states requirements of SSHO. Please confirm contractor s site supervisor can simultaneously perform the duties of SSHO. Para 1.9B states requirements of CSP to conduct a monthly site safety inspection. Please confirm this required and a separate individual must be hired by contractor. COMPLY WITH SPECIFICATION. Spec sec 01 91 00 states for general commissioning requirements. As there is no new work of mechanical, electrical or plumbing then please confirm this spec is not applicable for this project. COMPLY WITH SPECIFICATION AND UTILITY DRAWINGS. Please confirm that the existing soil below and around the building no.3 is not contaminated. REVIEW AND COMPLY WITH DRAWING HA-101 AND RELATED SPECIFICATION(S). Deduct Alternate # 2 states Delete requirement for completion of demolition/deconstruction on weekends between Friday evening and Sunday evening. All demolition/deconstruction shall be completed Monday through Friday during normal working hours. --- This means for base bid work of demolition/deconstruction (except all site work) contractor is allowed to work only between Friday evening and Sunday evening, is our understanding correct? Please clarify. COMPLY WITH THE GENERAL REQUIREMENTS SPECIFICATION AS IT READS. There are few big trees around/next to the existing building no.3, please advise if any of these trees are to be removed by the contractor, if yes then how many trees? COMPLY WITH DRAWING CD-107 AND DEMOLITION SPECIFICATION. Drawing AD-101 note states upon removal of all bldg. components, all excavations shall be filled, compacted, graded and seeded . --- Please advise what is the height of the existing basement floor/crawl space where contractor will have to fill the space with fill material. Also please advise what fill material shall be used to fill the spaces and basement floor. COMPLY WITH EARTHWORK SPECIFICATION FOR FILL MATERIAL. CRAWL SPACE IS INAACCESSIBLE. FOR BID SUBMISSION, PRESUME CRAWL SPACE GRADE AND TOP OF FOOTINGS ARE FOUR (4) FEET BELOW FINISHED GRADE AT BUILDING PERIMETER. VERIFY WITH COR. The base bid indicates Demolition work to be performed Weeks from Friday Evening to Sunday Evening.� Please confirm loading and hauling of debris and removals can be performed during the week and normal hours. Loading and hauling of debris can be done during normal hours, as the contractor will have close proximity to facility exit gate. Confirm construction of the new parking lot can be done during normal hours in the base bid. New parking lot can be done during normal hours Confirm the existing roof construction is a concrete slab. Item 3. As specified�on Drawing AD-101, roof deck is reinforced concrete. Is there paint or plaster on the existing concrete walls or slabs?� Is there waterproofing on the concrete foundation walls?� If so, recycling plants may reject the concrete to be recycled and it may need to be disposed of as general debris at a landfill. Item 4. Wall finishes and coverings are shown on Drawing AD-101 plans and schedule. If an item is not shown a plan or schedule, it is not in the existing construction or a hidden condition.
