- Questions and Answers: This says 100LF or road and 32 mats. That math doesnt add up for standard sized mats. What dimension mat are you looking for??? HxWxL We need enough mats to make the size roads indicated. Thequantity of mats may change depending on thesize mats you quote. Change the quantity to correspond with the size mats you are proposing to make the size roads we specified.Indicate on the quote which size mats you are quoting. Can the mats be oversized? (i.e. 12x4x16 is readily available and is cheaper and faster than a 14)? Whatever size will make the size road requested. The width specified is a minimum requirement. On the Geotextile Is that listed in linear feet or square feet? And again what dimension are you looking for? Linear feet. Must be wide enough to cover the footprint of the road. Is the delivery location looking for both trucks at the same time or is separate deliveries acceptable? Separate trucks are acceptable as long as all deliveries are complete by the delivery deadline June 15th, 2020. The delivery must be scheduled with the COR to be sure that operators and equipment are available for unloading. Is there full size tractor trailer access to get In and turn around? Yes, the site has a driveway that will allow a drive through delivery. There will be equipment and personnel available for unloading. The vehicles traveling on the mats, up to 120,000 pounds, will they be tracked vehicles, rubber tire or both? Continuous tracked vehicle traffic may require different matting. The majority of the vehicle traffic will be rubber tired log trucks with occasional crossing with tracked vehicles (logging equipment and dozers). What equipment is available for unloading at delivery location? Extended fork lift, bucket thumb or other? Some mats do not have lift points for straps or hooks. A compact loader with fork attachment AKA skid steer will be used to off load. What is the expected duration of the temporary access? Depending on above answers, some mats have shorter life durations than others. We would like these mats to be able to be used for this project as well as future projects so they must be durable enough to withstand multiple projects and multiple loads. For example the first project will involve 200 round trips with log trucks. Transition & approaches this is written very vague. Do you have a minimum transition elevation? Most will assume no transition required if you dont qualify the statement with transition height. What is meant by transition is an angled mat that will alleviate an abrupt transition onto the temporary crossing. This can be done with fill as well, but transition mats were available fromcompanies and this would reduce the maintenance required with fill. Is there any information on subgrade? If wetlands, a simple example would be how deep you sink when you stand in the wetlands The wetlands are adjacent to small streams. They are typically fairly solid i.e. no sinking when you stand on the surface. Doyou require new mats or would used mats be acceptable? Quote new mats in accordance with the specs. You can submit an alternative proposal for slightly used (in excellent condition) matsthat meet the specs.
