Answer questions received in response tot he solicitation. Page 3 of 3 Working hours are shown from 7am-4:30pm. Is it fair to assume that there will be work outside these hours due to occupancy or procedures? If so please clarify. It is safe to assume that the contractor will have to work outside these hours when validation of the Operating Rooms need to be done, usually we have the contractor come in as early as 5am to perform this work. Will there be any weekend work required? No weekend work will be required. What will be the process for room/space access (keys, badges, security, etc )? VA Service line will provide access to all rooms being validated and will accompany the technician to security to acquire a badge. Offeror s personnel shall have a valid driver s license for this process. Who will be making the adjustment to the HVAC systems at the fan level? VA Service Line will make all necessary changes to the HVAC systems at the fan level If fan adjustments are required, what will the scope be to other areas fed off these systems that are not in scope? If adjustments are made VA Service Line will be responsible for making sure all other areas that are affected will be adjusted accordingly. Will the spaces only be balanced at the room or will entire systems need to be balanced due to changes within the scope? Spaces will be balanced at the room, if entire systems need to be balanced VA Service Line will be responsible for doing so. Will preventative maintenance be done prior to the TAB of the fan systems? Preventative maintenance is performed by a contractor on a schedule with the pre-filters replaced every 90 days and the final filters replaced annually, so yes it is safe to say the maintenance will be done prior to TAB of the fan systems. Who will make any BMS adjustments? VA Service Line will make BMS adjustments Will there be assistance available for any controls related items? VA Service Line will provide assistance for any control related items. Will the required air change rates be provide for each space? Yes the VA Service Line will ensure the required air change rate will be provided for the space. Will the required differential pressures be provided for each space (if required)? Yes the VA Service Line will ensure the required differential pressures will be provided for the space if required. If differential pressures are not required, will the airflow relationships be provide for each space? Most of the areas that are being validated are on Johnson Controls building automation so if airflow relationships need to be provided for each space, VA Service Line can assist with this as well. Who will be responsible for mechanical repairs or how will they be addressed? The VA service line will be responsible for mechanical repairs as needed and keep in contact with the contractor so when the repair is complete they can perform their validation. Are there mechanical plans available for each space to help establish what systems will need to be adjusted? Yes the VA Service Line can provide plans for each space to help establish what systems will need to be adjusted. What is the badging process? (how long, medical requirements, costs?) Refer to question 3. Where will contractors be allowed to park in relative to the spaces/buildings being tested? VA service Line have one space next to building 6 which is very close to our HVAC shop that the contractor will be allowed to park and if that space is unavailable we can make arrangements for them to offload their tools and park in the general parking location. What PPE will be required? Normal PPE which is safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and steel toe boots. Will work need to be done from containments? No work will need to be done from containments. Do any of the spaces above the ceiling where adjustments will be made have asbestos and will require additional training or safety precautions? No all the areas that need to be validated do not have asbestos.
