Description
THIS SOURCES SOUGHT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. This Request for Information (RFI) is a market research tool used to maximize competition, and enable the Government to identify companies that are capable of providing the services described herein. This RFI is looking to identify all interested potential Offerors and receive feedback, in the interest of promoting competition. Location: The proposed project location is a freshwater pond either at Patuxent River Naval Station MD, or within 30 minutes of the Naval Station.(note: The Dept of Navy will take responsibility for all environmental permitting.) Timeline: The timeline for the project is Fall 2020 � Spring 2021.� Scope of Work: The Department of the Navy requires approximately 3 days of impact pile driving to support an acoustic exposure assessment study. The contractor will drive piles over expected 3 days at a tempo requested by the leads in the study, with a minimum 1-2 hours between piles. The work will consist of driving four (4) twenty four (24)-inch diameter steel piles per day, for a period of 3 consecutive days.� The piles will be removed at the end of each day and re-used. Requirements: -A Diesel Impact Hammer and crane is required.� Desired specifications for the hammer weight is over 8,000 lbs, with the ability to produce a rated energy level comparable to an APE D19-42 diesel impact hammer (47,132 ft-lb). -A crane is required to conduct the pile driving from shore side and not from a barge.� This is not a request for competitive proposals. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
