- Description
- The solicitation and any resultant contract will be a stewardship project in accordance with Section 8205 of Public Law 113-79, the Agricultural Act of 2014. This project is being advertised for full and open competition. This acquisition has been tailored to fit the Governments need for trading goods for services. The McKinley Stewardship Project is located on the Scott River Ranger District of the Klamath National Forest. The project area of 9,470 acers. The contract includes two mandatory bid items, and eleven optional items. Treatments would improve fire resiliency on National Forest System land by reducing fuels and stand density within strategic areas and within the wildland urban interface (WUI) on National Forest lands. Increase defensibility to wildfire to the nearby communities of Yreka and Hawkinsville, California. Reduce fuels within designated State of California Tier 2 High Hazard Zone.� The contract includes thinning of conifers, piling or decking at landing and removal and road maintenance.� The project also includes removal of approximately 40,908 tons of Combined Softwood (CS) Sawtimber. Project Location - The McKinley Stewardship Project is located in Township 45 North, Range 7 West, Sections 4-6 and 18; Township 45 North, Range 8 West, Sections 9, 10, 13- 16, 22-24; Township 46 North, Range 7 West, Section 32; Mt. Diablo Meridian. This contract area falls within the State of California Tier 2 High Hazard Zone. The solicitation package will be uploaded approximately April 20th, 2020. The date of award is expected to be within 60 days after the actual response date, which will be stated in the package and is subject to change with amendments to the solicitation. The contractors are encouraged to visit the site prior to the response date, a prebid meeting on site is planned for 4/28/2020. More information about the site visit will be posted with the solicitation package. Please hold any technical questions until after review of the solicitation. The technical contact information will be listed in the solicitation. The purpose of this notice is to meet the FAR 5.201. It is the contractor�s responsibility to monitor the beta.SAM.gov website for updates and amendments.
