Description
The US Army Futures Command, Combat Capabilities Command (AFC:CCDC), Natick Contracting Division, intends to award a firm, fixed-price contract under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), only one responsible source, to HJ OPTRONICS, San Jose, CA 95135 for providingLTC-ISB-1300_1390_1480_1550_1615_1680-PM-1265 _1725-460-1495-40: BeST-SLED Integrated Spectral Bench: 6 SLEDs: 1300nm, 1390nm, 1480nm, 1550nm, 1615nm, 1680nm, PM Fiber, Spectral Coverage: 1265nm-1725nm, FWHM: 460nm, central wavelength: 1495nm, Fiber Output Power >40mW andOPT009034, PM Patch Cable, PM1550-XP (PANDA), FC/APC, Slow Axis Aligned, Blue 900um Tubing, 1m length as well as shipping and handling. HJ Optronics is the only known source that is capable of providing the support for the project""Molecular Imprinted Polymer Functionalized D-shaped Optical Fiber"" supported by the internal 2363 section Soldier Innovation Fund. The light source combines 6 individual superluminescent diodes using a proprietary beam combining technique. This provides a constant intensity from 1240-1725 nm that can couple with a single optical fiber. While there are other light sources that can supply light from 1240-1725 nm their intensity profile is not flat and overall power are insufficient for the optical fiber sensors being developed. In addition the system provides great power stability (<0.2dB in 8 hrs) and spectrum stability (<0.3 nm/Deg C) to provide consistent measurements needed for the sensors to function. This is not a request for quotes. No solicitation package is available. Any responses to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 541330, Engineering Services. Inquiries and responses may be sent to Lauren Pelser, Purchasing Agent, via email at lauren.d.pelser.civ@mail.mil no later than 28April 2020 5:00 pm(EST).
