Description
The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Engineering Research and Development Center Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (ERDC-CERL) in Champaign, IL has a requirement for one MAX RGT-75FS, dissolved air floatation pump coupled with a 208V 3 phase electric motor with a minimum of 15 horse power. ERDC-CERL intends to award a purchase order on a sole source basis to Rogue Pump Company LLC in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). Market research indicates that Rogue Pump Company LLC is the only source for this requirement because The MAX RGT-75FS pump manufactured by Rogue Pump Company LLC has been found to be the only pump that will meet the governments requirements in the Hazardous Algal Bloom Interception, Treatment, and Transformation System (HABITATS) program. This pump is unique in that it allows air to be entrained into the pump, dissolving it into the water so that it can be used in the harvest of microparticles from a body of water. Microscopic air bubbles are produced during normal operation and mixed with the algal cells and these suspended particles are floated to the surface where they can be more efficiently collected. Research performed in the HABITATS program has found that this will be the most effective way to separate suspended solids (algal cells) from the water column. In addition, the patented method this pump uses to entrain atmospheric pressure air into the pump without requiring pressurized air from an external compressor saves not only weight and energy costs. Rogue Pump Company LLC sells their products directly and does not utilize a network of distributors. Therefore, they are the sole source for this requirement. This is not a small business set aside. This Notice of Intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement. Any interested party that believes they can fulfill this requirement should submit a capability statement to be reviewed. All submissions will be considered, however there is no guarantee that submissions in response to this notice will be in any way alter the Governments acquisition strategy. Please provide responses to this notice no later than the Response time listed above in this notice, to: CERL-CT_QUOTES@usace.army.mil Telephone responses will not be accepted. Responses to this notice will not be considered as a response to any solicitation, a request to be added to a prospective offers list, or to receive a copy of any solicitation. A determination by the Government not to compete the contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
