Description
The US Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District is seeking sources to provide personnel, materials, supplies, equipment, transportation, supervision and other items and services for the following: McNary Gudgeon Anchor Concrete Removal. Work will take place at McNary Lock and Dam located at Umatilla, Oregon. Work consists of the following: 1. There are four downstream navigation lock gate upper gudgeon frames. Three of the four are fully encased in unreinforced concrete. One has been partially exposed (by removal of concrete). 2. Remove approximately 1.3 cubic yards of unreinforced concrete from each of the three fully encased downstream lock gate upper gudgeon frames, for a total of approximately 4 cubic yards. All removed concrete and all water or other materials used in the concrete removal shall be collected and properly disposed of off Government property. 3. Remove lead based paint from the previously encased portions of the steel gudgeon anchor frames at all four gudgeons (one gudgeon has already had concrete removed). 4. Grind the steel surfaces to the proper roughness profile for Ultrasonic Testing of previously encased portions of the steel frames at all four gudgeons. 5. Apply corrosion inhibitor to all fresh metal surfaces to prevent rust bloom. 6. The gudgeon anchor ledge is approximately 6 feet, 6 inches below the deck level, so fall protection equipment or temporary safety guardrails are required in accordance with EM 385-1-1. 7. The navigation lock will remain in service during the on-site work. Hazardous Energy Control Procedures shall be following while work is being performed. 8. Period of performance is 90 days from contract award.
