All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested nor will it compensate any respondent for costs incurred in developing information provided to the Government. General Introduction: 1. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center Rapid Sustainment Office (AFLCMC/RSO) is conducting a market assessment to identify potential sources that may possess the expertise, capabilities, and experience to respond to the requirements listed in this document. AFLCMC/RSO is issuing this Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS) for a Large Flightline Generator Set to explore cost effective options to provide this capability and to obtain valuable feedback in regards to the attached draft requirements document. AFLCMC/RSO does not plan to release another request for information after this SSS. 2. This is not a request for a quote, request for proposal, or an invitation to bid, nor is this to be construed as a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation or ultimately award a contract, nor does it restrict the Government to a particular acquisition approach. The Government will not accept unsolicited proposals. Please be advised that all submissions become Government property and will not be returned. 3. Not responding to this SSS does not preclude participation in any future Request for Proposal (RFP), if any is issued. 4. Small Businesses are encouraged to provide responses to this SSS in order to assist AFLCMC/RSO in determining potential levels of competition available in the industry, as well as helping to establish a basis for developing any subsequent subcontract plan goal percentages. Market research results will assist the Air Force in determining the final acquisition strategy for this program. 5. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. It is the responsibility of the interested parties to monitor this site for additional information pertaining to this SSS. 6. Companies may be contacted if additional information is needed to fully understand the marketplace and/or comments to the requirements. 7. The Government will consider and attempt to respond to all questions, but reserves the right not to respond.
