RFQ responses must be submitted via email to Joshua.Gallien@va.gov. Hand deliveries shall not be accepted. To: (xv) RFQ responses are due 23-April-2020 at 4:00 PM EST. RFQ responses must be submitted via email to Joshua.Gallien@va.gov. Hand deliveries shall not be accepted. Question 1: Boiler Specifications BTU / Hour output Model and Serial Numbers Answer 1: West Haven- 3-Cleaver Brooks DL-60 31,000 lb./hr. WL-299-1,299-2,299-3. 2-Victory HRSG waste heat co-gen 21,468 lb./hr. 13089-1, 13089-2. Newington - 2-Bigelow B type13,500 lb./hr. 1677, 1678. Zorn Bent tube 12,500 lb./hr. 18595. Question 2: What is the percentage of condensate return? (For both facilities) Answer 2: Newington- 40%, West Haven- 40% Question 3: What is the operating pressure of boilers? (For Both facilities) Answer 3: Newington- 90psi, West Haven- 110psi. Question 4: Is there a feedwater tank or DA tank (what is the temp of tank)? (For both facilities) Answer 4: Newington- 220 . , West Haven- 210 . Question 5: Are there water softeners on makeup water? (or other pre-treatment including RO, Dealkalizers, etc.) (For both facilities) Answer 5: Both - water softeners Question 6: What is the makeup water quality (cond, calcium and total hardness, pH, alkalinity, chlorides, and silica)? (For both facilities) Answer 6: Newington- 4700, 60, 9-10, 40, 0 West Haven- 2800,<0.5 , 8.4, 4/14, 23, 0 Question 7: Do you use an alkalinity builder chemical as well as a standard sulfite, internal treatment (phosphate or polymer), and steamline amine program? (For both locations) Answer 7: Both Yes Question 8: What size chemical containment tanks will easily fit in the mechanical rooms near feed points? (For both locations) Answer 8: Newington- set up for 50 gal West Haven- set up for 50/100 gal Note: both sites have storage tanks. Question 9: Will there be a site visit? Answer 9: Due to the current safety risks associated with COVID 19, no site will be held at this time
