Description
TECHNICAL SERVICES FOR INSPECTION AND CORRECTION OF SHAFT SEALS ONBOARD USCGC SYCAMORE Background. This requirement is for the contractor to inspect the shaft seal for damage and problems, Face Change out Kit NSN: 5330-01-520-5277 and seal seat NSN: 5330-01-645-3665. � Scope. The Contractor shall provide all personnel including dive services, labor, materials, travel, parts, tools, test equipment, test fittings, supplies, consumables, and equipment to accomplish tasking. The Contractor shall provide the services of a qualified Tech Rep, who is familiar with the Wartsila shaft seal system/equipment, to accomplish all tasking. The Tech Rep will be responsible for the following: Advise on manufacturer's proprietary information pertinent to the system. Assist with proper repair methods, and ensure compliance with manufacturer's procedures and standards during disassembly, inspection, repair, modification, calibration, and reassembly of the equipment/system. Ensure compliance with manufacturer's procedures and standards during disassembly, inspection, and reassembly of the shaft seals. The Tech Rep shall bring vulcanizing equipment to install the inflatable seal. � Objective. The objective of this requirement is to determine why leak is present and correct the shaft seals from leaking. � Tasks. The contractor shall provide labor and dive services to install cofferdam on stern tube, and inspect and replace parts of shaft seal IAW TP 3524_243_A, to include but not limited to: 4.1. Inspect and/or test of shaft seal and secondary bladder. 4.2. Removal of old seal(s) and secondary bladder. 4.3. Installation of new seal(s) and secondary bladder. � Delivery. Contractor shall provide a final report within 3 days of contract period of performance. � Government furnished property. Face Change out Kit NSN: 5330-01-520-5277, Seal Seat NSN: 5330-01-645-3665 � Security Requirement. Base access is required. Vendor shall have a valid driver�s license and show identification. A CG representative from the cutter will sponsor and escort vendor to the cutter. � Place of performance- CG Base Portsmouth 4000 Coast Guard Blvd Portsmouth, VA 23703 � Period of performance- Option 1: 22-24 APR 2020����������� Option 2: 27-29APR � Points of Contact.
