- This is a Sources Sought Notice only.� This is a market research tool being utilized to determine the availability of potential sources who can perform the following Caterpillar SSDG repairs.� The U.S. Coast Guard, Surface Forces Logistics Center (CPD-C&P2) is seeking qualified sources to perform Caterpillar repairs of the USCGC STRATTON, a 418 foot National Security Cutter home ported at Coast Guard Island, Alameda, CA. The planned period of performance will be on or about�July 1, 2020 for approximately 12 weeks. A firm-fixed price contract is anticipated for award. The information obtained from this notice is for market research only and will be used to determine the method of procurement including whether to set-aside the procurement for small business or other set-aside programs. Statement of Work includes, but is not limited to the following: STATEMENT OF WORK: CAT Technical Representative Authorized CAT Technical Representative (TR) to assist with repairs and ensure compliance with manufacturer procedures and standards during engine disassembly, reassembly, inspections, and operational testing as listed. Disassembly: CAT Authorized TR to be onsite and assist with disassembly of the engine to a short block configuration. All electronic equipment and parts to be preserved. All removed components of the engine are to be inspected by CAT TR for re-use. Removal and Loading: Contractor to rig old/new engine block out of the Forward Main Machinery Room (FMMR) by way of one of two options listed below. Contractor to submit rigging and lift plan to CG for approval via CFR. Both options include removal of interferences to include but not be limited to piping, electrical wiring and equipment, brackets, ducting, bulkhead, and will require a shore side crane / lift plan ADJACENT LADDERWELL�& SIDEPORT/RESCUE�DOOR The Engine has to be lifted and hoisted from the 4th deck FMMR through the hatch and transited through the 3rd deck passageway to the Side/Rescue Door Space, via Bulkhead Cutouts. � GOING UP THE GAS TURBINE UPTAKE Rigging setup at the top of the Plenum (there are two Main Padeyes Installed for 10000-20000 lbs). Installation: CAT TR assemble running engine once the 3512B short block is in place. Operational Test: Once installation and assembly is complete, contractor shall optest with Coast Guard Inspector and CAT TR. Coast Guard will provide a Long Block with Injectors as GFE; to include: 3512B Engine Block Heads and intermediate covers Gear Train Valve Train Piston Kits Crankshaft Connecting Rods Interested parties must submit the following: (a) Company name, business size status (i.e., small, large, 8(a), SDVOSB, WOSB, etc.) (b) Capability to perform work similar to the above statement of work. (c) Past performance information to demonstrate successful completion as a prime contractor of projects similar in scope and complexity to the work items above. Include contract numbers, project titles, project description, dollar amounts (award and final values), references with email addresses and telephone numbers.
