- Additional Questions and Answers to subject Solicitation (No. 36C24720Q0442): My responses are in blue - April 22, 2020 Question: Is an air fluidized bed system required based off the NPIAP (National Pressure Injury Advisory Panel) definition:� A feature of a support surface that provides pressure redistribution by forcing air through a granular medium (e.g. beads) producing a fluid state? Answer: NOT REQUIRED Question: Is powered transport required on bariatric bedframes to prevent injuries to caregivers? Answer: YES Question: Is powered push of a button width & length expansion required on the bariatric bed systems? Answer: NO Question: Is Turn Assist required on the standard or bariatric sized low air loss surfaces? Answer: NO Question: Is a Patient Helper Trapeze Option required? Answer: NO Question: There are 7 items listed in B.2 Price/Cost Schedule.� I m not seeing salient characteristics/specifications for 7 items in PWS.� Please advise. Answer: The basis is what you can provide from the 7 items directly from the specification/ salient characteristics below. If you cannot price any of the 7 items or cannot provide a pricing for a certain item, please omit your pricing for the item(s). Any additional salient characteristics you provide will be taken into consideration and a decision made based on the Service Line needs. 3. Rental Equipment Specifications 3.1. The following equipment will be delivered as needed on a rental basis to the Atlanta VA Health Care System and Eagle s Nest Community Living Center. a. Support surface with combined immersion, or low air loss immersion therapy, or fluid immersion simulation, and/or deep cell low air loss therapy beds that supports prevention and pressure reduction for compromised skin by minimizing causes of skin breakdown including pressure, shear, friction, heat, and moisture. Beds shall have hi-low adjustments for patient positioning and provide a safe working height for caregivers. These beds should also include electric head of bed articulation to accommodate patients with respiratory complications and motorized/powered transport. Shall also include the following salient characteristics: Integrated scale Bed exit alarm CPR release Overall bed dimensions Low position must not exceed 22 High position must not exceed 34 Overall length must be at least 80 Overall width must be at least 35 b. Bariatric Beds Shall also include the following salient characteristics: Up to at least 1000 pounds weight capacity Bed exit alarm Integrated scale CPR release Overall bed dimensions Low position must not exceed 22 High position must not exceed 34 Overall length must be at least 80 Overall width must be at least 35 Thank you, Darlene Chase Darlene.Chase@v.gov
