Statement of Work For�High Temperature Servo-Hydraulic Test System� Project Title: High Temperature Servo-Hydraulic Test System Document Date: 30 January 2020 Objective and Scope:� Acquisition of complete high temperature servo-hydraulic test system �1. Background: Mechanical and thermal testing of materials and sub-components requires specialized equipment in order to meet the requirements of rigorous scientific review. While each discipline (mechanical, thermal) requires its own equipment, integrating the two together is not trivial and requires a fully integrated design and implementation. AFRL/RQHF is engaged in high temperature mechanical testing research and requires capabilities beyond what are currently available within AFRL/RQ laboratories. By acquiring a fully integrated high temperature servo-hydraulic test system, the in-house capabilities of AFRL/RQ will increase resulting in shortened test schedules and decreased testing costs. �2. Minimum Requirements: RQHF requires a fully integrated and turn-key high temperature servo-hydraulic test system capable of tensile and compressive loading (monotonic and cyclic) at various strain rates (1E-7/s � 10/s) at a minimum of 16.5 Kip. Additionally, it must include the alignment, grips, wedges and instrumentation to support testing at temperatures ranging from room temperature to +3000 �F. The system must contain hardware and software to support MTS FlexTest Controller and the delivered equipment will be put through qualification testing upon delivery to confirm performance of system. The detailed requirements are below: Fully integrated test system capable of tensile and compressive loading (monotonic and cyclic) at various strain rates (1E-7/s � 10/s) at a minimum of 16.5 Kip Integrated system rated for monotonic and fatigue loads System must be able to conduct tensile tests at rates ranging from 1E-7 to 5 in/s with minimal changes to hydraulic system (must not require replacing servovalves) Actuator must be capable of achieving a minimum of 5 in/s at a minimum load of 16.5 Kip 25 inches of horizontal clearance between columns Maximum distance between installed 22 Kip wedge grips is to be no less than of 30 inches Stiffness rating of a minimum 2.7E6 lbf/in Test frame rated at 55 Kip capacity Actuator rated at 22 Kip capacity Baseplate mounted actuator Actuator must have a minimum of 6 inches of stroke Test frame crosshead adjustable with air or hydraulic assist 50 gpm hydraulic service manifold (HSM) with 1 gallon accumulation Close coupled HSM with variable flow rate valve options and sufficient accumulation to support required loading magnitude and rate 30 gpm hydraulic power unit with noise rating below 65 dBa Hydraulic power unit must have temperature/cooling flow safety limits All hydraulic hose assemblies must be pressure tested to 1.5 times operating pressure (3000 psi) Alignment, grips, wedges and instrumentation to support testing at temperatures ranging from room temperature to +3000 �F 22 Kip wedge grips with high temperature oil and seals to support temperatures up to 350 �F Stand-alone grip controller Water cooled diamond tipped 22 Kip grip wedges for specimen thickness 0 - 0.3 inches Water cooled Surfalloy 22 Kip grip wedges for specimen thickness 0 - 0.3 inches Test frame column mounted manifold for cooling water distribution Flow switch for water cooling system to support integrated safety systems (temperature limits, flow limits, etc.) Load unit must have ability for the upper and lower crosshead attachments to be aligned and meet ASTM E1012 Water cooled load cell adapter Calibrated alignment system with perpetual license for alignment software Flat alignment specimen with 12 strain gages Water cooled ASTM Class B1 extensometer with +/- 8% travel and 1.0 inch gage length rated at temperatures up to 2200 �F Water cooled ASTM Class B1 extensometer with +50% /-5% travel and 1.0 inch gage length rated at temperatures up to 2200 �F 2 zone furnace with heating elements capable of reaching temperatures up to a minimum of 3200 �F in each zone Thermocouple conditioner and connecter kit for Type K and Type R thermocouples for NI chassis with signal integration to FT40 Hardware and software to support MTS FlexTest Controller 8 Channel A/D Board with breakout cables 8 Channel D/A board with breakout cables 2 Channel UART/Encoder Handset controller Test control computer with required software installed Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS) Peak Valley Phase Control option Amplitude Phase Control option Arbitrary End Level Control option Multipurpose TestWare (MPT) Software MPT Variables option TestSuite Multipurpose Elite Software TestSuite Reporter Add-In Calculation option Thermocouple management Delivered equipment will be put through qualification testing upon delivery to confirm performance of system. Onsite installation, commission and basic operator training for all systems delivered Test frame must be aligned to ASTM E1012-14 standard using the alignment system included in this procurement Load cell and LVDT/TEMPO displacement transducer must be calibrated Delivery Schedule: As soon as possible after contract award Delivery Destination:� 2790 D Street, Area B, Building 65, Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio Inspection and Acceptance: Both inspection and acceptance will be by the Government at Destination.
