- Sources Sought Synopsis Only This is not a solicitation announcement. This is a sources sought synopsis only. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (hubzone, 8(a), small business, small disadvantage business, Veteran owned small business (VOSB), Service disabled Veteran owned small business (SDVOSB), or large business) relative to NAICS 611430 with a size standard of $11.0 Mil.� Note that if VA s pending market research establishes that two or more VOSB or SDVOSB, who are certified and verified in VA s Vendor Information Pages (VIP) site https://www.vip.vetbiz.gov/, can perform the service, VA will set aside the underlying solicitation per 38 U.S.C. �8127.� Responses to this synopsis shall be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this sources sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published on Contract Opportunities and/or GSA eBuy websites. Responses to this sources sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors must respond to the solicitation announcement separately from responding to this sources sought announcement. General Requirements: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network 22 Contracting Office is seeking sources that can provide VA workforce an annual two-day Geriatric Conference: Leadership and Management in Geriatric (LMG), in Carlsbad, CA for the Greater Los Angeles (GLA) Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Center (GRECC) located at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System (VAGLAHS) located at 11301 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90073. The Contractor shall provide all necessary and appropriate resources necessary to perform the services requested herein. The Contractor shall provide and present VA clinicians and staff its Annual Leadership & Management in Geriatrics conference. This two-day conference affords participants the opportunity to spend time in an intensive and highly interactive setting with leaders in the field of geriatric medical management. The conference provides opportunity for participants to work in small collaborative groups with a faculty mentor to develop and implement an action plan for a worksite-specific quality improvement management/leadership challenge Learning Objectives Identify unique characteristics of geriatric health care services Describe and apply key elements of business/organizational theory to medical practice Apply geriatric leadership and management skills to medical practice Describe at least three models for geriatric practice Apply collaborative problem-solving skills Apply mentor/mentee skills Create and implement an action plan to address a worksite management/leadership issue. Minimum Accreditation Required Continuing Medical Education (CME): Accredited by the Institute for Medical Quality/California Medical Association (IMQ/CMA) to provide continuing medical education for physicians. CALTCM designates this Live activity for a maximum of 16 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s) . Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This credit may also be applied to the CMA Certification in Continuing Medical Education. This course complies with Assembly Bill 1195 Continuing Education: Cultural and Linguistic Competency. American Board of Internal Medicine MOC Statement: Successful completion of this activity enables the participant to earn 20 Practice Assessment points [and patient safety MOC credit] in the American Board of Internal Medicine s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. It is the sponsor s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ABIM for the purpose of granting the MOC points. American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (ABPLM) (formerly AMDA) This live activity has been pre-approved by the American Board of Post-Acute and Long-Term Care Medicine (ABPLM) for a total of 16 management hours toward certification as a Certified Medical Director (CMD) in post-acute and long-term care medicine. The CMD program is administered by the ABPLM. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit spent on the activity. Board of Registered Nursing (BRN): Provider approved by California Board of Registered Nursing, Provider #CEP16690 for 16.0 contact hours. Nursing Home Administrators Program (NHAP) This activity has been approved by the Nursing Home Administrator Program for up to 16.0 hours of NHAP credit.
