- Request for Information� Navy Clothing and Textile Research Facility �Pocket Designs Background:� The Navy Clothing and Textile Research Facility (NCTRF) is conducting a market survey for a non-patented Letter Carrier Slacks and Trousers pocket design for use in the United States Postal Service (USPS) Uniform Certification Program. The most promising design will be down selected and will be considered for use in future uniform procurements for the USPS Uniform Certification Program. Description: �NCTRF is seeking pocket design concepts for the USPS 15C Letter Carrier, Woman�s, Slack dated 9 April 2013 and USPS 30G Letter Carrier Trouser, Man�s dated 8 September 2017. �The pocket shall be a sleek lay flat design, large enough to comfortably hold a scanner.� The scanner dimensions are listed in Table 1 (see attachment).� There shall be two pockets, one on each leg located mid-thigh.� The pocket design shall accommodate both Type I & II materials Candidates:� To respond to this RFI, interested candidates are REQUIRED to submit the following to enable the Government to efficiently evaluate the viability and benefit of the proposed pocket design(s): Two (2) samples with the proposed pocket design of the USPS 15C Letter Carrier, Woman�s, Slack dated 9 April 2013 in size 12 with a pattern date of 29 February 2008 Type I & II. Two (2) samples with the proposed pocket design of the USPS 30 Letter Carrier, Trouser, Man�s in size 38 Regular dated 8 September 2017 with a pattern date of 18 November 2009 Type I & II. An estimated unit cost increase to add the new pocket design, which may be broken down by quantity reflecting economies of scale. Any additional components used to make the pocket. Submissions are limited to two (2) designs per candidate. Samples and required documentation submitted by interested candidates are due by COB 31 JULY 2020 at NCTRF.� Information will be handled as proprietary, patented designs will be rejected and will not be considered, and samples will not be returned.
