- Description
- When awarded, will the contract cover only air ambulance transport of patients originating FROM the Reno VA facility? Or will contract pricing cover any flights arranged by the Reno VA travel office, regardless off originating facility? Any flights arranged by the VA The Specific Tasks section of Statement of Work states: The contractor shall transport patient belongings and specialized equipment at no additional charge. This requirement is unclear to me, and I fear may result in an unquantifiable expense for my company. For example, the difference in transporting a CPAP machine vs a motorized wheelchair. Can you clarify what the VA s expectation is? Most of the time they are on a gurney and if they take someone with them, there is not enough room for anything else . The weight is also an issue. If they are alone and there is enough room on the plane and it does not affect the weight, they have in the past taken a scooter.(does not generally happen) Everything is looked at case by case. The Statement of Work indicates that the base rate shall constitute full payment for all 0ne-Way trips up to 300 miles, and the base rate would be the same irrespective of originating facility, destination facility, or level of care required (except in transports over 300 NM). Ground transportation costs vary a great deal from city to city. For example, ground transportation in Salt Lake City costs me $1,750, whereas ground transportation in San Francisco is less than $700. Can you provide an estimate of the number of flights (or percentage of flights) to SLC and SAC, my highest cost cities for ground transportation? Reno to SFVA (SFO) 20 Reno to PAVA (SJC) 17 Reno to Mather (SAC) 1 Reno to LAVA (LAX) 1 Reno to SLVA (SLC) 1 Similarly, my costs vary based on level of care. Is it possible to get an estimated breakdown of percentage of flights that are BLS, ALS or CCT? Everything that goes though Airmed is ALS or CCT. We would like to keep the option to use them for BLS.
