Description
Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Troop Support Medical Directorate is conducting market research to determine industry capabilities for providing Medical based Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) against COVID-19. This is a Request for Information only and not a solicitation for award. To advise - This RFI is a continuation/amendment of the original one issued on April 8, 2020 and first amendment on April 21, 2020 and second amendment on May 4, 2020. Response date extended now to June 1, 2020 (vice MAY 18, 2020). New product category of Human Remains Pouches (HRPs)was been added as of May 18, 2020 to the existing list. IMPORTANT NOTES TO RE-EMPHASIZE- This noted RFI, titled under SPE2DS-20-R-COVID19, is not tied to any specific solicitation, and may or may not lead to an award action(s). DLA Medical Directorate is currently conducting market research to build a database of prospective vendors and what PPE (personal protection equipment) type products they have access to including pricing, current inventory and monthly/annual production capacity. This database may serve as a possibility for engagement of some possible purchase order actions and DLA may or may not be releasing some solicitations for PPE in the future. Inclusion in this database does not necessarily mean you are being considered for an award, similarly not submitting to this RFI will not preclude you from winning any future awards. Additionally, DLA is in the process of accommodating the transfer of mission from FEMA to DLA. C & T(Clothing and Textiles) supply chainwill be the lead for many of the items where the mission is being led. C & E (Construction and Equipment) supply chain will also takethe lead on some of the items. The Medical supply chain MAY have a role in those items as well........thus to re-enforce - this RFI is NOT for C and T and C and E based material - thus respectfully request that responses do not be submitted for these supply chains - Medical based responses only please. Thank you in advance for the cooperation. Please see the attached notice for details on the information requested. Please note - this is strictly a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION AND SOURCES- NOT A SOLICITATION.
