Description
USPS Request for Information (RFI) 3A-20-A-0071 AGV Eye in the Sky (EITS) Background The United States Postal Service (USPS) is currently deploying tugger and pallet style Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs). The USPS has developed an Eye in the Sky (EITS) system as an enhancement to the AGV system which utilizes a sensor/camera system mounted from the ceiling to detect the presence or absence of rolling stock containers and pallets, read the corresponding MTEL label barcode, and automatically call for an AGV for pickup and drop off at the appropriate destination. The USPS is seeking suppliers that can provide turn-key capabilities to build and install the EITS system in USPS facilities based upon detailed design documentation developed and provided by the USPS for fabrication, site preparation, and installation. Requirements The objectives and requirements for fabrication, site preparation, and installation of the EITS system in a typical Postal facility are described in the attached Statement of Objectives (SOO), Automated Guided Vehicle Eye in the Sky Production Deployment, dated May 7, 2020. Suppliers should read the SOO document and accompanying reference documents for an understanding of the project scope. Responding to this RFI Interested suppliers responding to this RFI should provide information that addresses the requirements as described in the SOO and shall include, at a minimum, the following: - Turn-key capabilities that meet the requirements of SOO Section 3, EITS Requirements, including a short description of how each requirement will be met and examples of 1 to 3 past projects, or; - The ability to partner with other supplier(s) to provide turn-key capabilities that meet the requirements of SOO Section 3, EITS Requirements, including a short description of how each requirement will be met and examples of 1 to 3 past projects, and; - Company information to include: company name, any subsidiaries or associated companies, company address, company website, company overview, and Point of Contact name and phone number/email address. Proprietary information, if any, should be kept to a minimum and MUST BE CLEARLY MARKED. Please be advised that all submissions become USPS property and will not be returned. Please note that this RFI does not in any way commit the USPS to make any award, or to test or to purchase any equipment. Any questions pertaining to this RFI should be directed to Tammi Robinson-Minor at Tammi.Robinson-Minor@usps.gov and Andrew Hopkins at Andrew.J.Hopkins@usps.gov no later than 5:00 PM Eastern Time (ET) on Friday, May 15, 2020. All questions will be consolidated and the Postal Services responses will be provided as an amendment to this announcement. Written submissions in response to this RFI must be provided via email to both Tammi Robinson-Minor at Tammi.Robinson-Minor@usps.gov and Andrew Hopkins at Andrew.J.Hopkins@usps.gov no later than 5:00 PM Eastern Time (ET) on Friday, June 12, 2020.
