Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order for Bauer VTC-7K/20-3 compressor, AS7-4V cascade, 7000psi modifications to existing equipments from Breathing Air Sytem. The vendor possesses the design and specifications for all equipment. They are able to make minor modifications to system components to be suitable for the increased 7000psi pressure, without the need to fully replace or redesign. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) �only one source is reasonably available�. This acquisition cannot be substituted because within Bauer, Breathing Air Systems is the authorized distributor for this region and possesses the design and specificationsused in the NIOSH research laboratory. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 333912. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within three (3) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
