- NOTICE OF INTENT TO PROCURE. NITROGEN GENERATOR FOR DEPT OF NAVY, THE UNITED STATES NAVAL FUELS & LUBRICANTS LABORATORY, NAVAL AIR STATION PATUXENT RIVER, MD The Government intends to sole source this requirement to Peak Scientific, Inc. The purpose of this notice is to perform market research to see if any other vendors exist that are capable of providing the equipment as specified below: CLASSIFICATION: Product Service Code: 3655 Gas Generating & Dispensing Systems, Fixed or Mobile NAICS Code: 335312 Motor and Generator Manufacturing Place of Performance: Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Maryland 20670 DESCRIPTION: The NAVAIR Fuels and Lubricants Chemistry Laboratory mission is to support the Naval Aviator by providing fast, accurate, and reliable aviation fuels and lubricants analysis. Nitrogen gas is used as a carrier gas to support the operation of laboratory instruments/equipment, specifically, the gas chromatographic instruments used to analyze aviation fuels and lubricants samples. The nitrogen gas is currently being delivered by a combination of PEAK nitrogen generators and high pressure compressed liquid nitrogen cylinders. The laboratory currently employs four Peak Nitrogen Generators to provide a source of nitrogen gas for several laboratory instruments. The laboratory requires one additional generator to obtain a safe and efficient source of nitrogen gas for newly acquired laboratory instruments, and address laboratory safety concerns with the use of high pressure liquid nitrogen cylinders. Our current inventory of Peak Generator consumables and operation and maintenance protocol experience further justifies the procurement of a PEAK nitrogen generator for effective, efficient, and seamless interface with our laboratory instrumentation. It also must have pressure swing adsorption (PSA) technology to ensure high performance and a low dew point (-50 C), which enables its use with multi-dimensional gas chromatography. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: The Nitrogen Generator shall have the following characteristics: Shall be manufactured and serviced by the same company/organization. A maintenance/service contract will follow upon purchase of this equipment. Shall use Pressure Swing Adsorption (PSA) technology to ensure high performance and a low dew point (- 50 C). Shall have gas flow output of at least 20 L/min. Shall have a noise level that doesnt exceed 54 dBA. Shall have electrical requirements: 230V Shall have Transformer Dual Tap 200-230Vac Point of Contact: Anita Kriner, Contract Specialist anita.m.kriner@navy.mil
