Description

The Library of Congress (Library) requires contract support to enhance the digitization program within the Digital Services Directorate.� At the direction of the Principal Deputy Librarian of Congress, DSD is creating a new and significantly expanded digitization center as a part of the Library�s digitization centralization initiative.� This is one of several acquisitions of new equipment needed to replace old and obsolete equipment, and to improve digitization efficiency. Similar Phase One digitization system equipment has been purchased many times over the years. These acquisitions are enhancements or updates to these systems. The Library intends to issue a sole source award to Digital Transitions, Inc.�to provide these services. In accordance with LC06.305, Availability of the Justification, the Justification and Approval to issue a sole-source award to Digital Transitions, Inc.�is posted with this notice. The synopsis of the requirement is as follows: One 12-month base�year. The entire contract amount�is less than the simplified acquisition threshold ($250,000.00 as of the date of this notice). The draft requirements are attached, as is the approved J&A. The Library is not soliciting quotes or proposals from any other sources at this time. In addition, this notice serves as the Library's intent to sole source, the synopsis of the contracting action, and the public posting of the J&A and requirements document.
