- Description
- The procurement is for one Ball-on-Cylinder Lubricity Evaluator (BOCLE) instrument that will be used at AFPA laboratories.� Aerospace Fuels Laboratories perform quality control testing for JET A grade aviation fuel. BOCLE instrument must at a minimum: Meet all the requirements in ASTM D5001, �Standard Test Method for Measurement of Lubricity of Aviation Turbine Fuels by the Ball-on-Cylinder Lubricity Evaluator (BOCLE)�. In accordance with T.O. 42B-1-1, �Quality Control Of Fuels and Lubricants�; MIL-DTL-83133K, �Detail Specification: Turbine fuel, Aviation, Kerosene Type, JP-8 (NATO F-34), NATO F-35, and JP-8+100 (NATO F-37)�; DEF STAN 91-091, �Turbine Fuel, Kerosene Type, Jet A- 1; NATO Code: F-35; Joint Service Designation: AVTUR� and ASTM D1655-15 �Standard Specification for Aviation fuels�. Generates a measurable wear scar by friction between a stationary ball and a rotating cylinder. Capable of cylinder rotational speed of 240 � 1 rpm. The temperature of the fuel tank reservoir is controlled. Fluid temperature should be maintained at 25 � 1?. The relative humidity of the compressed air which is circulated into and above the test fluid, also including the air flow rate, is controlled. Conditioned air should be controlled at 10 � 0.2% relative humidity at 25 � 1?. Air flow rate should be maintained at 3.8 L/min for duration of test. No microscope is needed, if sold separately. If attached, microscope should be capable of 100x magnification and suitable of measuring the wear scar to the nearest 0.01nm. No computer is needed, if sold separately. Typical power of 100-240V, 250W. Delivery within 4-8 week lead time after receipt of award.
