- Description
- Propulsion Systems Evaluation Facility Develop Propulsion System Noise Modeling Capability The Government intends to sole source this requirement to ANSYS, Inc, 2600 ANSYS Drive Canonsburg, PA 15317. The purpose of this notice is to perform market research to see if any other vendors exist that are capable of providing the equipment as specified below: A. Background The AIR 4.4 NIF-T (Navair Internal Flow-modeling Team) has established a modeling capability under a previous NISE-WFD project. The AIR 4.4 NIF-T has taken delivery, installed, and is using Large Eddy Simulations (LES) software developed under SBIR funding to analyze jet flow in NAVAIR turbomachines. LES software solves very large models of flow simulations on supercomputers, such as the DoD HPC. The subject software (EnSight) is used to post-process LES software outputs to create reportable graphs and visual displays of the results. The other software we are looking to get with the same purchase is ANSYS PrepPost, which will aid in the grid generation of the CFD simulations. To set up our LES simulations the Design Modeler tool is a unique asset for doing CAD cleanup on a Linux based operating system. B. Technical Requirements EnSight is the post processing software that is compatible with the LES software being used at NAVAIR. We want to renew our Ensight licenses (2 copies). Beyond Ensight, we need to renew our licenses of PrepPost, Design Modeler, and ANSYS Mechanical Professional, which are unique tools to use on Linux based computers and link up with the DoD HPC. This is a sole source purchase. C. Delivery Date All listed items must be delivered by September 16th 2020. This provides two weeks for the license key to be applied to the license server before a lapse of software access.
