The closing date of this solicitation remains to be Friday, June 12, 2020 at 12:00 PM EST. Additionally, any requests for information (RFI) shall not be accepted after Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 12:00 pm EST. All other terms and conditions remain the same. Janine Childs Contracting Officer Page 4 of 4 Page 4 of 4 RFQ 36C24220Q0639 Amendment 0002 Questions received from potential quoters, as well as answers provided Question 1: SOW Paragraph A.2.1. m. states minor repairs can be completed in the patient s room where the situation allows, is this statement mandating any repairs considered more than minor must be completed in Building 103? Answer: Yes, anything other than minor repairs would need to be accomplished in the warehouse to prevent patient disturbance. However, 99% of the beds shall be repaired in the warehouse. Question 2: SOW Paragraph A.2.2 7. details bed inspections are to occur in building 103, can you please provide the approximate location of building 103 and distance from the facility where beds will be in use? Answer: Building 103 is located on the opposite side of the campus, by the back entrance. The buildings the beds are being utilized in are in buildings 76, 78 and 104. A map has been attached and highlighted. Question 3: SOW Paragraph A.2.1 f. states mattresses will be replaced as part of this contract. Can this portion be removed? If not, can you clarify the frequency/timing of replacement? (i.e. all up front or a specific number per year?) Answer: No, this cannot be removed. As stated in Amendment 0001, This requirement has been updated to note, Ten (10) replacement mattresses shall be provided by the vendor for each year of the contract. Should more than ten (10) replacement mattresses be required within the option period, the mattresses shall be supplied by the VA. All repair and preventative maintenance parts and materials shall be Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and supplied by the vendor. Based on the above revision, please build the required number of mattress replacements into quotes submitted. Question 4: SOW Paragraph A.2.4. b. states Second shift and weekend work may be required for emergency repairs only, could weekends be removed from the SOW? Answer: Weekends have been removed; however, second shift shall still be required for emergent repairs. Question 5: SOW Paragraph A.2.2 b.2. states clean/sanitizing of the beds, can this be removed from the SOW? If not, can you clarify if the cleaning supplies will be contractor or VA supplied? Answer: This clarification notes that vendors will not be sanitizing the beds. Beds shall be sanitized by VA personnel prior to being sent back into rotation. Bath VAMC site map:
