Description

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE TO THERMO SCIENTIFIC RFQ# N66001-20-Q-6509 The proposed contract action is for Niton XL5 XRF Analyzer and calibration, which the Naval Warfare Information Center Pacific(NIWC PAC SD) San Diego intends to solicit this requirement on a sole source basis to Thermo Scientific Portable Analytical Instruments Inc, 2 Radcliff Rd Tewksbury, Massachusetts 01876 United States under the authority of Far 13.106-1(b)(1). Justification: Under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)1;Sole source justification is based on Thermo Scientific Portable Analytical Instruments INC. is the Only one source that exists with no known distributors of the required product and the ONLY company that can provide the Niton XL5 XRF Analyzer and calibration. This is a solicitation for Supplies, prepared in accordance with the format in FAR subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, the Government will consider all proposals received within TWO (2) days after date of publication of this synopsis. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of the determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This announcement constitutes only solicitation, quotations are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
