- The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified businesses capable of providing a terrestrial laser scanner and peripherals as described in the attached Salient Characteristics. This sources-sought announcement is not a request for quote or proposal and the Government is not committed to award of a purchase order or contract pursuant to this announcement. The information resulting from this market research is simply for planning purposes to assist the Government in determining its acquisition strategy. The Government will not pay for any costs incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this notice. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code � 334519 Other Measuring and Controlling Device and associated size standard of 500 - number of employees apply to this announcement. Product/Service Code 6675 Drafting, Surveying and Mapping Instruments. All responsible sources may submit technical specifications detailing the ability of their product to meet the salient characteristics included with this announcement. Responses to this announcement shall only be accepted through electronic mail addressed to cciccarelli@usgs.gov and must be uploaded and received in their entirety no later than June 19, 2020. Responses submitted by hardcopy or the FedConnect web portal or the FedConnect Message Center shall not be accepted or considered. Salient Characteristics Terrestrial Laser Scanner . Laser ranges to 2,500 meters at laser pulse repetition rate of at least 50,000 Hz (effective measurement rate of at least 20,000 measurements per second) . Point accuracy of at least 5 mm and point precision of at least 3 mm; . Angle measurement resolution of at least 0.0007 degrees vertical and 0.0005 degrees horizontal; . Class 1 laser product; . Integrates with a variety of external cameras (both photographic � red/green/blue and thermal infrared); . Uses integrated 3-axis accelerometers and 3-axis gyroscopes for instrument positioning; . Uses reflective targets in the survey workflow for accurate point registration and georeferencing procedures; . Allows connection of external RTK GPS survey antennas; . Uses swappable external battery packs for long temporal use in field settings
