- Description
- The Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) has a requirement for contractual services to teach ME3205 Missile Aerodynamics to distance learning students at China Lake and Point Mugu, CA, and Patuxent River, MD, during the Summer Quarter, Academic Year 2020.� This course is part of a six-course sequence, which in addition to their Navy Test Pilot School (TPS) credits can be used towards a MSES degree. � Course description: Potential flow, thin-airfoil and finite wing theories. Linearized equations, Ackeret theory, Prandtl-Glauert transformations for subsonic and supersonic wings. Planform effects. Flow about slender bodies of revolution, viscous crossflow theory. Contractor support is required to facilitate the learning objectives to the students enrolled in the course.� The contractor shall monitor student�s performance throughout the academic quarter and establish a graduate level understanding of the subject matter.� The contractor will be provided with any existing and available course materials, lesson plans, sample syllabus, and lecture notes from previous deliveries of the course as Government Furnished Information (GFI).� Contractor will be given access to Government provided course management websites and content.� � The above referenced course is a distance learning class as well as an in-residence course and will be delivered using Government provided web applications with students at various locations as well as on-site at the Naval Postgraduate School located in Monterey, CA, if permissible.
