- NOTICE OF INTENT TO CONTRACT WITH A SINGLE SOURCE: The Federal Aviation Administration Academy, intends to award a single source contract to Airbus Helicopters, Inc. Grand Prairie, TX for proposed Initial and Recurrent Pilot Training in the AS-332-L1 Helicopter for FAA Inspectors and Pilots. In accordance with the FAA Acquisition Management System, AMS 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis of the FAA's decision to contract with a selected source when it is determined to be in the best interest of the FAA. This procurement is considered to be single-sourced to Airbus Helicopters, Inc. based on the following: �In accordance with the Flight Standards training requirements established by FAA policy and AFS-500, all training for FAA Inspectors should be obtained within an approved training program, approved and monitored under the Federal Aviation Regulations, as set forth in 14 CFR Parts 121, 135, 141 or 142 as appropriate (per the Performance Work Statement and requirements of Flight Standards Service office. Airbus Helicopters, Inc. is the only vendor capable of providing this training, as they have the only FAA Qualified AS-332-L1 simulator available for flight training. This announcement is for informational purposes only and not a Solicitation/Request for Proposal. This requirement will be awarded to Airbus Helicopters, Inc. Grand Prairie, TX and is not available for full and open competition. All questions pertaining to this announcement should be addressed in writing to the Contract Specialist, Gib Park, gilbert.n.park@faa.gov, no later than Wednesday, June 24, 2020.
