Description
Item Name: Crankshaft, Engine NSN: 2815-01-233-9709 Part Number: Cage 02978 or 0L7R7, P/N 12254239 Quantity: Minimum of 6; Maximum Quantity 203 End Item: M88 FOV Response Date: 07/06/20 Requirements Description: This award is for a procurement of new, crankshaft assemblies for use in the AVDS-1790 diesel engines which power the M88 FOV. The engines are described as a 750-1050 horsepower turbo-supercharged, fuel-injected, 12-cylinder, 90 degree V-type, 4-cycle air-cooled diesel engine. The crankshaft is the heart of the AVDS-1790 and is the component that harnesses the reciprocating force imparted onto the piston and rod assemblies due to combustion and transforms it into rotational force. The AVDS-1790 2-series and AVDS-1790-8CR is the heart of the M88 Recovery Vehicle Platforms and makes mobility and recovery operations possible. The crankshaft assemblies are an integral part of the AVDS-1790 family of diesel engines. The crankshaft is the heart of the AVDS-1790 engines rotating assembly. It is geometrically tailored to the engine block architecture. The crankshaft has specific spacing and diameter so that it can fit securely into the blocks seven main caps that secure it. Also, the connecting rod journal size is uniquely sized to the crankshaft rod journals. Finally the crankshaft offset or throw has been chosen to accommodate the stroke and valve clearance dimensional needs which are part of the recipe which gives the AVDS-1790 is power output capabilities. This survey is published in compliance with FAR Part 10 (Market Research). The Government does not possess the technical data package (TDP), detailed drawings and performance specifications for these items. This is not a developmental effort. This is for a 3 (three) year, Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract. The purpose of this survey is to canvas the industry for any other possible sources. This request for capability information does not constitute a request for proposals. Submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary. The government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred in responding or in any subsequent exchange of information.
