- THIS IS FOR SOURCES SOUGHT ONLY. While the complete draft RFP package has been included with this post, the RFP has not been released. Interested vendors should express their interest on the BETA.SAM.GOV posting. LINAC RADIO UPGRADE DESIGN-BUIILD PROJECT SLAC is seeking a qualified and experienced Communications subcontractor to award a Design-Build subcontract to perform design and installation of an upgraded Radio Communication System which will serve the Accelerator�s Sector 0-10 Linac (lower Housing and upper Gallery Areas). The Upgraded Radio System design and installation subcontractor will evaluate and attempt to utilize and/or upgrade/replace the existing Radio Communication infrastructure equipment and communication cabling. The design shall include the use of existing and installation of new supporting utilities (power, copper, fiber optic cabling).�Subcontractor will be required to evaluate the existing site conditions to determine use of existing fiber optic cabling and installation means and methods.� The awardee shall complete the Design in 2 phases: 75% and 100% (specifications and drawings), which will be submitted to SLAC for review, comment and eventual approval by all Stakeholders and by SLAC�s Building Inspection Office (BIO). BIO will provide approval and release the design for Construction. Subcontractor, must submit all Safety and Technical submittals to SLAC for review and approval, within the requirements of the Subcontract, on schedule as defined in this Statement of Work.� Upon Award SLAC will issue a project Notice to Proceed (NTP) for start of Design Phase. A second formal Notice to Proceed (NTP) will be issued, after Issued for Construction documents are approved, which will allow the subcontractor to begin Construction Phase. The Awardee is required to be a State of California licensed and bonded Communications contractor and is required to collaborate with SLAC Management and Technical representatives and coordinate with other area/site subcontractors to provide the highest quality, sustainable installation; and meet or exceed the requirements as listed within this document and associated reference documents. (i.e.SOW, �project reference specifications and reference drawings).
