- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to negotiate and award a Cost-Plus Fixed Fee (CPFF) order against Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-20-G-0007, to Raytheon Missiles & Defense (RMD), 1151 East Hermans Road, Tucson, AZ 85734-1337, to develop an update to the Munitions Application Program (MAP), in LINUX operating language, to support the requirements of the United States Air Forces (USAF) newly developed Common Munitions Built-In Test (BIT) Reprogramming Equipment (CMBRE) Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) assets. The CMBRE is owned and used by multiple USAF bases as a built in tester and reprogramming equipment for 12 different types of munitions in the USAF inventory. The CMBRE requires a Munitions Application Program (MAP) for each weapon system. The MAP allows the CMBRE to talk to the munition to check for faults and to push new software. The AIM-9X utilizes the CMBRE system in conjunction with MAP software in order to provide fleet/field-level capability to run BIT and reprogram missiles. The USAF plans to update the existing CMBRE support equipment with a CMBRE SLEP, which utilizes a Linux operating system, rather than the current Windows based system, along with other updated features to make the equipment more secure and useable. An eighteen-month period of performance is expected. NAVAIR intends to award this procurement sole source to Raytheon Missiles & Defense based on the authority provided in FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. IMPORTANT ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR INTERESTED PARTIES: There are no commitments by the Government to issue any solicitations, make an award or awards, or to be responsible for any monies expended by any interested parties before award of a contract or contracts for the efforts mentioned above. No telephone responses will be accepted. The primary point of contact for this synopsis is Brittoney Green. Responses to this synopsis should be sent only by email to: brittoney.green@navy.mil. For subcontracting opportunities, please contact Randy Christlieb at randall_d_christlieb@raytheon.com.
