Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP), Nationa Institute for Occupational Safety & Health (NIOSH), National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL) intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to: Ocenco, Inc., 10225 82nd Ave., Pleasant, WI 53158, for quantities of: 40, M-20 (P/N 930065) Self Contained Self-Rescuers (SCSRs), 40, M-20.3 (P/N 940302) Closed Circuit Excape Respirators (CCERs) and 60, EBA-7.5 (P/N 900300) Closed Circuit Excape Respirators (CCERs) for testing and evaluating, in the NIOSH Long-Term Field Evaluation (LTFE). Each year, NIOSH collects deployed SCSRs from active mines across the country and replaces those devices with new units of the same model and manufacturer. The number of each type collected is determined by their portion of the total population of SCSRs in use. Replacing the collected SCSRs with units of the same kind is required/necessiary since each manufacturer's unit operates differently and miners at that mine must be trained on the specific device Ocenco is the OEM and is the only supplier M-20, M-20.3, and EBA 6.5 units; these units must be acquired to replace those same units removed from the field during the collection phase of an ongoing project at NIOSH. This contract action is for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 41 U.S.C. 3304(a)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within seven (7) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation/response should be emailed to James Ambrozic, contract specialist at email: eud7@cdc.gov by 11:00 AM (EST) Tuesday, 07 July 2020.
