- THIS IS A NOTICE OF THE GOVERNMENT'S INTENT TO ISSUE A SOLE SOURCE AWARD. IT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. The United States Geological Survey (USGS), Reston Acquisitions Branch, Reston, VA, intends to award a non-competitive, fixed priced Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract under the authority of FAR 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items. The contract will be awarded to Wildlife Computers, Inc. based in Redmond, WA. The USGS Wetland and Aquatic Research Center has a requirement for satellite tags and transmitters to continue research tracking the movements and habitat use of endangered and protected species such as sea turtles and crocodiles. Wildlife Computers, Inc. is the only provider of transmitters allowing data continuity and proper frequency to connect to orbiting NOAA and NASA satellites and utilize existing Service Argos equipment on these satellites that transmit the data to software used by USGS. Four types of tags are required: satellite location only; location plus depth; GPS location, satellite location plus depth, and; accelerometers or acceleration logging tags. All sensors and switches on the tags must be painted to prevent salt-water fouling. Battery life shall be at least six months. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered; HOWEVER, THIS NOTICE IS FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. The NAICS code for this action is 334511 and the size standard is 1,250 employees. A vendor must be registered at https://www.sam.gov/index.html to be awarded the contract. Responses must be emailed to Susan Ruggles, sruggles@usgs.gov, no later than 07/21/2020. All information submitted should support the offerors capability to provide the items required and shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government.
