Description

The MCIEast Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Thermo Electron North America LLC (Cage Code: 3WXJ7) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This procurement is to provide preventative maintenance of the ED X-Ray Fluorescence Spectrometer for a period of one (1) year and four (4) option years at Fleet Readiness Center East (NAICS 811219 per the performance work statement).� Market research has revealed this contractor is the only source capable of providing the required services.� Therefore, the government intends to procure these services on a sole source basis from Thermo Electron North America LLC., the original equipment manufacturer and only authorized source. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within five (5) calendar days after the date of the publication of this notice will be considered.�� Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.� A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
