This is not a request for proposal.� It does not constitute a solicitation and shall not be construed as a commitment by the government.�� Responses in any form are not offers and the government is under no obligation to award a contract as a result of this announcement.� No funds are available to pay for preparation of responses to this announcement.�� Any information submitted by respondents to this technical description is strictly voluntary. A sought synopsis is a means of market research to seek possible sources for a project and to determine if a set-aside of a type is appropriate.� This is not a solicitation for work, a request for proposal, nor is this to be interpreted as a requirement that the Government will purchase.� Based on the information received as a result of this synopsis, the Government may change the initial acquisition strategy.� The sources sought process is not restricted to small businesses.� In many cases, large businesses should also respond with capability statements, as this will provide a clearer understanding of the current market.� Notice of Intent to Award Sole Source Procurement:� Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Aviation is issuing this Sources Sought Notice as a means of conducting market research to determine if other companies are capable of manufacturing (or legitimately obtaining) the following item(s) of supply, and to determine if a set-aside of a type is appropriate.� 2925-00-371-2252 Cover, Exciter 2925-00-371-2253 Cover, Rectifier Section 2925-00-373-3825 Cover, Filter Section 2925-01-531-9550 Igniter, Spark, Gas 2910-00-939-8507 Weight Set, Governor DLA Aviation intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.� Items within the population are sole source items to Unison (59501), and Pratt�and Whitney (55820) with AAR Defense Systems & Logistics (1Y249) as the sole exclusive distributor and only known source of supply for these items.� �Items within the population are targeted for addition to AAR�s long-term contract SPE4AX-17-D-9413 via modification.� Interested parties who consider themselves qualified to manufacture (or legitimately obtain) the above listed supplies are invited to submit a response to this Sources Sought Notice by 5:00 PM EST on July 14, 2020. If there is an open solicitation for a LSN/NSN which you want to submit a SAR, please submit the SAR directly to the buyer noted on the solicitation.
