THE GOVERNMENT DOES NOT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS RFI OR REIMBURSE ANY COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE PREPARATION OF RESPONSES TO THIS RFI. This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and does not constitute a Solicitation, an Invitation for Bids, a Request for Proposal (RFP), a Request for Quotation (RFQ), or an indication the Government will contract for the items contained in this announcement.  All information received in response to this RFI marked Proprietary will be handled accordingly.  Responses to the RFI will not be returned. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), responses to this RFI are not offers and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. PURPOSE The purpose of this RFI is to conduct market research to find qualified vendors and to assist Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6 in determining if a future contract effort can be competitively awarded on a total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside basis.  The applicable North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code assigned to this effort is 339113 with the Small Business Size Standard of 750 employees.  If the Government determines there are qualified vendors this requirement, a solicitation will be published and posted on the Contracting Opportunities website.  The Government will use this information solely to determine the appropriate acquisition strategy for this procurement.  INTRODUCTION This requirement is for the purchase of steam sterilizers to be used in the OR at the W.G Hefner VAMC. The W. G. Hefner VAMC requires the Getinge Steam Sterilizer Model 433HC-E to maintain standardization of the equipment that is currently being used. The government is anticipating that this will be a brand-name only requirement but encourages all vendors that can meet or exceed the item descriptions below to respond to this sources sought. If providing a like item/system, please include attachments/information/part numbers to allow the government to assess whether your items/system will suffice for this requirement. REQUIREMENTS NOTE: The VHA Network Contracting Office 6 (NCO 6) is conducting a market survey to find qualified vendors who can provide the following item(s) for the W.G. Hefner Salisbury Medical Center, 1601 Brenner Avenue, Salisbury, NC 28144: Item Number Description Unit 1 Model 433HC-E Catalog #:4SSVUPHRAAAA Model 433HC-E is a microcomputer controlled steam sterilizer that offers the option of either pre-vacuum or gravity displacement cycles for sterilization of medical devices. Powered by house steam and water-ejector vacuum. All models feature the advanced 8.4-inch Avanti touch-panel control interface with 24 selectable pre-programmed cycles. Custom name cycles for quick and accurate identification. Select from four cycle-process output data screens: Bar Graph; Circle Graph; Detail Display; or Plot Graph. The PACS control system features NetCOM enabled Ethernet connection for remote process monitoring; a thermal printer that documents cycle performance; and a user accessible connection for downloading cycle records to a USB flash drive. Cycles are validated for a maximum load of 2 trays up to 25 pounds each. Program settings are password protected.
