Description
Synopsis: Please note that this is NOT a request for quotes or proposals, the Government is seeking information for market research purposes only. Network Contracting Office (NCO) 2 of the Department of Veterans Affairs is currently conducting a market survey for qualified firms capable of providing Fire Alarm Repair for the CWT Transitional Residence in Bound Brook, NJ. The contractor shall be responsible for all supervision, tools, equipment, travel, labor and materials necessary to repair horn strobe circuit . The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) is 238210. Responses to this notice must be submitting in writing (email) and must be received no later than July 22nd, 2020 at 3:00pm. Email: Evelyn.Peguero@va.gov. No telephone inquiries will be accepted. Interested parties MUST provide company/individual name, a capability statement, examples of same or similar work performed at other facilities, DUNS number and address, point of contact and social-economic category. The purpose of this notice is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification/socioeconomic status (service-disabled veteran owned small business, veteran owned small business, women owned small business, HUB Zone, 8(a), small business or large business), relative to NAICS 238210. Responses to this notice will be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. A solicitation is not currently available. If a solicitation is issued, it will be announced on beta.SAM.gov at a later date, and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. SERVICE/REPAIR STATEMENT OF WORK (SOW) Fire System Repair at the VA-owned CWT Transitional Residence Located at 309 East High Street, Bound Brook, NJ 08807 Introduction/Background The Compensated Work Therapy Transitional Residence (CWT-TR) is a Mental Health Residential Rehabilitation Treatment Program (MHRRTP) for homeless Veterans looking to address their housing and employment needs. The property is owned and operated by the Lyons VA and is located at 309 East High Street in Bound Brook, New Jersey. During a recent annual inspection of the fire alarm system on it was discovered that the horns on the second floor do not operate as intended. The problem was diagnosed as a faulty wire between the first and second floor. They will need to cut into the walls of the house and rewire the alarm system in order make the horns on the second floor operational. Objective The objective of this project is to repair the second-floor fire alarm horns at the CWT-TR program in order to bring the fire alarm system back to full operation. Scope of Work The contractor shall repair the deficiencies to the fire alarm system as follow: The fire alarm repair consists of the following: Locate the faulty wire in the walls that connect the first floor horns to the second floor. Remove the faulty wire. Rewire the second floor horn strobe circuit with new wire. Test the fire alarm system (including the second floor horns) to ensure proper functionality. Qualifications/Certifications The contractor shall be qualified and have the required levels of professional and technical experience to perform the work required by this statement of work. The contractor must meet all federal, state, and local licensing requirements to perform the installation and repairs for this type of project. All conduit, conduit fittings, cables or wiring installed to fulfil the requirements of this statement of work must meet or exceed all NFPA requirements. Safety Regulations All applicable Federal, State and Veterans Health Administration safety regulations shall be observed during all work of this contract. The VA Safety Officer shall have full authority to see that the contractor obeys all safety rules and regulations relative to the fulfillment of this contract. Provide the necessary barricades/signage where required. Scheduling and Hours of Work All work in areas involved shall be scheduled with the Program Manager of the VA s CWT Transitional Residence. Work shall be scheduled for proper execution to completion of this contract.   The contractor will perform this work during normal weekday business hours. Estimated Period of Performance The contractor shall schedule the fire alarm repair immediately after receipt of order. This is an urgent procurement.
