Description
The purpose of this amendment to the combine synopsis solicitation is to answer questions that were submitted. The questioning period is closed, and no new questions will be accepted or answered. The solicitation close date has changed to 9am CT, July 21, 2020. QUESTIONS: We have extensive experience marking medical devices but to identify the proper laser source I need to know what materials you would be marking on. ANSWER Materials will be etching: Clear plastic Stainless Steel Metals of multiple types Polymers for scopes I would also like to ask for your help understanding how we should submit our quotes since there are two different machines available for this application. The first solution is to use a standard laser marking machine that can mark on any metal and most polymers but then requires passivation to remove any oxidation left during the marking process. The second solutions involve using a pico-second laser source that does not cause any oxidation during the marking process therefore not requiring passivation. The first solution ranges from $30k-80 depending on the machines size while the second machines with the pico-second laser starts at $200k. ANSWER: Requesting Grade 1/Standard Laser without passivation.
