- The USDA-ARS-PSRU is in need of a Plot Drill used for Alfalfa (primary) and other seeds of various sizes and shapes planting into research plot size fields. Be able to plant different types of seeds in each row (using auto magazine loader minimum) Plot sizes: -Be able to do research plot sizes down to 3ft min width -Distance of planting length set electronically (not set by manual sprockets and gears/chains) -Max distance in magazine tray loader a minimum of 20 ft -Max distance in manual cone loading mode a minimum of 50ft -Minimum distance between rows 6in -Opener system for no till plots with adjustable downward pressure, able to disable opener if needed Seed handling: -Magazine tray system for auto planting up to 6 rows with different types of seeds each row, 120 mm cone heads -Magazines include covers -Manual cone system with up to 7 row distribution with other distributions available 290mm cone head -Seed tray for operator -Stainless steel cones suitable to all types of seed used -5 and 7 row distributor heads available -Drill box type option for continuous seeding or fertilizer using same row units Electronics: -Electronic trip mechanism for operator, electro magnetic lift for filling funnel -Single button electronic trip for operator in manual mode -GPS guidance compatible for tractor with electronic auto trip by GPS (Trimble system+ RTK for precision) that interfaces 100% with planter controls via cable for complete plot planting design -In house software control package with in house support, be able to upload data package of planting parameters created off site/ahead of planting, as well as download any info sent back to planter. (d) Comptroller General Examination of Record.
