- NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE � The Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility (PSNS & IMF) Contracting Office (Code 440) intends to issue a fixed price award to a single source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1), Soliciting from a single source. An award will be made on or about 8/5/2020 to Illinois Tool Works Inc., doing business as Instron, A Division of Illinois Tool Works, 825 University Ave, Norwood, MA, 02062. The period of performance is tentatively 8/5/2020 through 08/04/2021. This is a non-personnel services contract. It is to provide calibration and warranty service on Instron 5985 and 3367 Universal Testing Machine (UTM) and it�s associated equipment, and Instron Rockwell Hardness Tester. The contractor shall provide all labor, supervision, personnel, equipment, materials/supplies and travel to perform onsite services on Instron 3367 UTM, 5985 UTM, and the Instron Rockwell Hardness Tester located at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor, Silverdale, WA. Calibration and Maintenance shall be completed as defined in the attached Performance Work Statement (PWS).� The contract will provide for Instron, who has proprietary information exclusive to the manufacturer, to come onto base and perform the required work. The contractor is the manufacturer of the equipment and has the proprietary information necessary to calibrate and maintain the equipment. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code: 811219 Other Electronic and Precision Equipment Repair and Maintenance with an SBA Size Standard of $22.0 Million. Product Service Code (PSC) J036 � Maintenance, repair, and rebuilding of equipment: special industry Machinery This notice of intent is not a request for quotes; however, all responsible sources may submit technical capabilities that satisfy the requirements listed above. The capability documentation should include general information and technical background describing in detail the prospective contractor�s capabilities and experience that demonstrates the ability to support the requirements. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement to competition based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
