- West Texas VA Health Care System Replace Fire Pump and Controller BACKGROUND: The West Texas VA Health Care System (WTVAHCS) currently has a requirement for services to replace existing fire pump with motor and Fire Pump controller. STATEMENT OF WORK/OBJECTIVE: Contractor shall provide all equipment, labor, material, transportation and supervision to replace the fire pump, motor and controller in the main facility at 300 Veterans Blvd., Big Spring, TX. The contractor will be responsible for visiting the site and interviewing the engineering personnel responsible for the maintenance of the fire pump, motor and controller. The contractor will be responsible for selecting a fire pump, motor and controller that will meet or exceed the requirements of the facility. The contractor shall submit specifications on each piece of equipment and show how each will fit the current location of the old equipment, work with our current utilities and meet or exceed the requirements of the facility. Each piece of equipment must be approved by the VA prior to purchasing. A person certified in fire sprinkler/fire protection systems must certify that the equipment installed meets all requirements. Equipment must be installed by a certified fire sprinkler/fire protection installer and comply with all life safety codes. Information on the current fire pump is as follows: Aurora Type 6x481x18B Serial no. 08-1664128 G.P.M. 1500 at 125 PSI rpm 1770 1. Site visit by the contractor. 2. Submittal of proposed equipment. 3. Install new fire pump with motor and controller 4. Test new fire pump and controller.
