- THIS IS A SOURCE SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT ONLY. This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government. All information submitted in response to this announcement is voluntary; the Government will not pay for information requested, nor will it compensate any respondent for costs incurred in developing information provided to the Government. The 140 MSG/MSC intends to award a sole source contract to Transaero Inc. of Melville NY for two Weapons Umbilical Reliability Test Sets (WURTS) from L3Harris. Market research, thus far, has only confirmed that Transaero Inc is the sole supplier of the WURTS which is developed by EDO MBM,�which is now owned by L3Harris. This sources sought is intended identify any other contractors that are capable of providing this test set or another piece of equipment that performs the same functions as the WURTS. DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENT: A self-contained single person portable test unit for checking weapon umbilicals prior to fitting to an F-16 aircraft. The item must assist an operator by allowing a quick and simple indication of the status of an umbilical of pass or fail, illuminated with either a LED or �pass/fail� display, prior to fitting to the by testing each wire open and short circuit conditions. A self-contained diagnostic aid should be included to allow failures to be identified or referenced to each pin or wire corresponding to failure. The item must be commercial off the shelf (COTS). With no calibration, the item must have the capability to test Mil-std-1760 munitions jumper cable umbilicals for Wing Weapons Pylon interface and BRU-57 interface within 45-60 seconds from initiation. The item must be �Red Ring� compatible to allow for all current vendors producing Mil-Std-1760 umbilicals. Responses to this Sources Sought are not quotes upon which the 140 MSG/MSC can issue a contract. This Sources Sought is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not itself constitute an RFQ. The Government does not intend to award a contract or BPA(s) based only on responses to this Sources Sought. All information received in response to this Sources Sought marked ""Proprietary"" will be protected and handled accordingly. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response. Responses to the Sources Sought will not be returned. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this Sources Sought. 140 MSG/MSC will not pay for information received in response to this Sources Sought. Do not submit pricing information in response to this Sources Sought.
