- Description
- Purchase of CO/N2O portable high accuracy CO/N2P analyzer with hard shell shipping case AMENDMENT 0001 ADDS THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION: PURPOSE: We need a lightweight infrared spectrometer to measure ambient levels of nitrous oxide (N2O) , carbon monoxide (CO), and water vapor (H2O) from aircraft and a range of laboratory standards of N2O from 50 parts per billion (ppb) to parts per million (ppm) levels. The priority molecule is nitrous oxide, because our lab is the WMO Central Calibration Laboratory for both N2O and CO. The H2O measurement permits the recording of the measurement as dry mixing fraction (DMF) or in dry air, which is require for high precision and high accuracy work. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: The range in concentrations required for our work are 50 ppb to >1 ppm) for N2O and CO for the analyzer. One analyzer allows us to measure our higher-level standards at ppm levels, prior to dilution to parts per billion (ppb) ambient concentrations. The ambient concentrations for our ambient air in aircraft studies is 40 to 350 ppb for N2O and 5-400 ppb for CO. The specifications on the precision of our priority molecules is 300 parts-per-trillion (ppt) per second. We require ambient air precisions of < 0.05 ppb for N2O and < 0.1 ppb for CO. The stability of the N2O measurement must be 40 ppt at 200 sec or better. Instrument must measure H2O to calculate dry mixing fraction of each gas. The instrument must be lightweight to operate on aircraft or balloons and must weigh less than 10 kg (22 lbs.) and consume less than 115 watts. It must be able to operate in AC or DC power mode. The software package must calculate the concentrations as mixing ratio in dry air. The built-in computer must operate the instrument and allow transmission or recording of the data via the internet and/or remote storage (via USB port, WiFi, etc.)
